Kimberly Knight Laskowski, M.Div, here, happily serving Sojourners’ Fellowship for the last year or so. I am a member of the United Church of Christ and previously served as the Minister of Digital Community with Extravagance UCC, an online ministry of the denomination.
I am a progressive, universalist Christian who finds beauty and truth not only in the narrative about Jesus, but in many of the worlds great religious traditions.
I’m deeply steeped in liberation, feminist and queer theology. I faithfully reject biblical literalism and inerrancy. My faith and my family mean the world to me and I am called to create compassionate space where others can deepen their faith and connection with the created world around us.
While attending seminary at Emory University in The States, I launched an online congregation where I led progressive Christian worship, bible study and community events in Second Life for a congregation largely comprised of LGBT people. The merging of my theological training and technology background led me to serve as the online organizer for The Beatitudes Society for two years, and then later as a marketing and social media consultant for The Center for Progressive Renewal. I’ve led social media workshops for communities of faith across the nation as well as presented a paper at the AAR and have been a featured speaker the Wild Goose Festival.
My wife and I arrived in The Netherlands in 2017 to work at an international school here and we love living in De Kooi neighborhood of Leiden with our two rambunctious dogs.
Hope to see you soon!
