Sojo Sunday: Advent of Hope
November 29, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
“The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part”
~ Tom Petty
Waiting for Christmas day can as hard as it is fun. Some days it seems like Christmas morning will never get here. The good news is, we don’t have to wait passively for the Advent of Peace. We don’t just light candles, say prayers and wait for great things to happen. We are called to partner with God. Ultimately that is our Christmas story., that God chooses to work with and through humans to create Hope, Peace, Joy and Love in response to the wondrous gift of the birth, life and ministry of Jesus.
This Sunday we begin the season of Advent with wreath making and lighting the first candle for Hope as we long for the Divine in breaking of compassion, justice, and peace.
We will have Advent wreath kits for everyone, including local folks who will be joining us via Zoom. Please let us know if you will be joining us either online or in person so we can have a kit for you.
In person gathering is limited to 12 people, so RSVP is required to help keep everyone safe and healthy.
As always there will be coffee, tea and baklava! You are welcome to bring a vegan or gluten free treat to share.
And remember….ALL who come in peace are welcome, including but not limited to: believers, agnostics and questioning skeptics; those of all sexual orientations and gender identities; those of all races, nationalities, classes and abilities.
For folks who can’t join us in the building, we’ll have the Zoom channel open to widen the circle.
