Sojo Sunday: Water is Life
January 19 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 pm
“As our lifestyle of consumption feeds the downward spiral of polluting the ground, the earth, the air, and the water, we need to take a moment during this time of Lent and reflect on the gift of water. Biblical passages such as, “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants” (Isaiah 44:3) remind us that water is life and a gift from God. Without water and the Spirit, we cannot live. God created all things and gave them to us to enjoy so that we can flourish here on earth. As creatures, we cannot destroy or prohibit others from enjoying God’s creation.” – Grace Ji-Sun Kim
This Sunday we will gently explore our relationship to water, baptism and how we might get involved in water justice initiatives around the globe.
As always there will be coffee, tea and yummies! You are welcome to bring a vegan or gluten free treat to share.
And remember….ALL who come in peace are welcome, including but not limited to: believers, agnostics and questioning skeptics; those of all sexual orientations and gender identities; those of all races, nationalities, classes and abilities.
